2014
With a goal of enjoying the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival and the Christmas Holiday decorations, we made our first trip to Walt Disney World in November. We were at Bay Lake Tower (BLT) at the Contemporary Hotel.

Background
At 0638, it’s 64. We left the room at 0800 and took the monorail to the Magic Kingdom. We secured our Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas tickets from guest services, and, at 0850, headed for the Seven Dwarves Mine Train, along with a sizeable number of other guests. It was broken! So, we headed instead, past Rapunzel’s Tower, for the Haunted Mansion. Then, at the new store, we purchased a hideous wine bottle stopper. We walked through Liberty Square to the Enchanted Tiki Room and then to Pirates of the Caribbean. We wanted to take the train back to the gate, but it is in the process of being refurbished and wasn’t taking passengers. We took a bus (only the two of us on board) to the Animal Kingdom. We walked over to Yak and Yeti for lunch. We had FastPass+ for the Festival of The Lion King Show in their new theater. It was the same show and was very entertaining. We were too early for our FastPass+ to the Safari so we took the train out to Rafiki’s Planet Watch. After that, fatigue trumped our FastPass+ to the Safari and we headed back to the room for a little rest. Eschewing the busses, we took a cab from Bay Lake Tower to the Boardwalk for our reservation at Flying Fish Café.
