With a goal of enjoying the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival and the Christmas Holiday decorations, Lyd and I are making our first trip to Walt Disney World in November.
We'll be at Bay Lake Tower (BLT) at the Contemporary Hotel.

Aloha Dinner Show

Dressed for dinner, we left the room at 1615 assuming we needed to be early for the pre-paid Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show at the Polynesian Hotel; wrong on both.
A photographer took our picture and scanned Lyd’s wrist band.
We don’t yet know whether there was a charge or they were just identifying us as we didn’t see the finished picture.
They don’t start seating people until 1715 and we were way overdressed as there was not another sport coat in sight.
Table 30A was a great table, ring-side.
There were two raised trays affixed to the table when we were seated.
One held an insert of the appetizers of mixed greens with mango-poppy seed dressing, honey-lime slaw, soba-noodle salad and fresh pineapple and a basket of pineapple-coconut bread.
In addition to specialty drinks, there were complimentary soft drinks, two kinds of beer and two kinds of wine.
Lyd opted for the chardonnay and I had the sangria which tested like a mix of merlot and Kool Aid.
The main course was placed in the other serving tray and included Pulled pork, roasted chicken, pork ribs, and a vegetable medley.
The ribs were particularly good.
A warm pineapple bread pudding replaced the main course tray.
We were reminded of our days in Jacksonville attending the Alhambra Dinner Theater: You are there for the show, not for the food.
The show started with a hula lesson and almost a third of the diners went up onstage with the performers.
This was followed by audience participation for anyone with a November birthday succeeded by any couples with a November anniversary --- all crammed on the stage.
The actual show featured talented dancers performing the traditional dances from the South Seas, a very athletic event, culminating in a very good fire dancer.
Shortly before 8, we were on our way back to the room.
We’re of the opinion that the whole event would be too long for the boys in June.
