Monday, December 8: Margaret elected not to join us for Baking Day, and I suspect my continuing cold is the reason.
Anyway, with Lyd doing most of the kitchen work and with me reading recipes and operating multiple timers, we made
4 dozen Walnut Cookies,
7.5 dozen Toll House Cookies
and a batch of Brownies. We sampled them for quality control and Lyd then hid them (a wise precaution) until the family arrives.
Having decided that 4 of our eggs were too old for baking, we were left without enough to complete all of the scheduled recipes, so we decided on
Lemon Squares.
Finally, an Apple Sauce cake (one of Bill's favorites) and a
Bacardi Rum Cake were prepared.
