Background
At 0620, it’s 83. At 0730, we went down to Chef Mickey’s and had a scrumptious buffet breakfast, with table-side visits by Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto and Donald. We returned to the room briefly to pick up hats and backpacks. Then, Lyd and Kate headed off to Senses Spa in the Grand Floridian for Classic pedicures. Sal, Dominic, Leo and I headed for the Magic Kingdom. At Buzz Lightyear, I rode with Dominic and we had fun. After Buzz, we tried for the Tomorrowland Transportation People Mover, but it was down for maintenance, so we went on to Monsters’ Inc Laugh Floor. The Director must have felt I was good for a laugh as I was featured on the monitors a total of 5 times. We walked back to the Fantasyland Train Station to ride the Walt Disney World Railroad to Frontierland. Alas, heat and exhaustion caught up with Leo and he had a meltdown. By the time we reached the Main Street Station, he was emotionally gone. Sal and Leo took the monorail back to the room and Dominic and I shared some time together with a couple of launches back to the dock at the Contemporary Hotel. Sal and Dominic went down to the pool until the Florida summer thunderstorms closed the pool and sent everybody back inside. David Martin visited for a while and then SKDL went down to the Community Hall to make Mickey tie-dye shirts. A little after 6 p.m., Lyd and I went down to the lobby to secure a cab to the Yachtsman Steakhouse. By 2145, we were in bed and never heard either the fireworks or the boat parade.
