At 0530, it's 63 in Montreal. We had breakfast in the hotel dining room and then packed for travel. Upon check-out, the desk told us we would be billed for our usage of the honor bar, as expected. Our driver was waiting for us and took us for the short drive to the central railroad station and gave us detailed instructions for inside the station. We secured our tickets and headed for the waiting lounge for VIA Rail Canada. The attendant sent us back to check our larger bags. We returned to the business lounge until instructed to board. Down the escalator, we were directed to and boarded car #1 and secured seats 11A&B on the left side of a luxurious car. I located the electrical terminal and quickly connected to the WiFi we enjoyed the entire trip. Promptly at 1300, the train backed out of Montreal until clear of the city. We then proceeded across the St. Lawrence to the south bank for the trip to Quebec. We were soon presented with cocktails and then heated towels before lunch. Lyd enjoyed a cold salmon plate and I had a nice pork tenderloin. We pulled into Quebec, on time, at 1620, and encountered our driver to the hotel, the only individual of our entire trip who professed to speak no English. At the Fairmont Hotel Frontenac, we checked in and were assigned to 1708 on the top floor of this luxurious hotel. Our concierge floor is the 14th. At 1730, we took a cab to L'Initiale for dinner.
