At 0540, it's 54 in Quebec City. At 0700, we went down to the concierge floor and had a nice breakfast of baked eggs, smoked bacon and pastries. We met George at 0900 for our tour of the city. Heading northeast out of the city, our first stop was at the Albert Gilles Copper Art Museum, where George seemed to be well known. Our next stop was at the Shrine of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupre. We headed back toward town through some back roads and saw caverns, ovens and stopped at Boulangerie Chez Marie for a taste of maple butter. We stopped at Montmorency Falls. From there, it was back to the hotel, with little time exploring the old city. We picked lunch at Le Sam in the hotel. Following lunch, we walked around the back of the hotel and took the funiculaire (2.25@) down to the river area and walked out to the docks. We boarded the Louis Jolliet for a 90 minute cruise on the St. Lawrence and met a couple from British Columbia. At 1745, we walked to Aux Anciens Canadian for dinner. We walked back to the hotel and retired for the evening, only to be awakened by the fireworks that accompanied the Saint Jean Baptiste Day celebration.
