I presented myself at the podium and was met by Gary Lapidus, whom we have known from several other fine restaurants in the Magic Kingdom area.
I had a nice table for just me, by the window.
Nathan was my server and he started me out with a Maker's Mark Manhattan (11).
I selected the Seared Diver Sea Scallop Paella (40) with little neck clams, mussels, Carolina Gold Rice in Tomato Broth with Petit Fennel. Before that came, however, the kitchen sent out a strawberry kim-chi to awaken my pallet. Nathan and I agreed that a bottle of wine would be dangerous, so, instead, he brought me two glasses of a Pacific Rim Sweet Riesling, which went well with the Paella. During dinner, I had a lovely chat with Guest Experience Manager Elizabeth and awarded her a
Pixie Dust List Card. Nathan brought the dessert menu, but when I declined, he decided otherwise. Another diner appeared at my table, looking quite familiar. It took a few seconds to recognize him as Karim, my server from the night before at the California Grill. Following his visit, Nathan returned with a dessert that defies description. |
