Dinner at The California Grill

Description
At 1830, we walked over to the 2nd floor of the Contemporary Hotel and checked in for the California Grill. Soon thereafter, we were whisked to the 15th floor and seated at the first two seats of the sushi counter, our regular seats. Jay was our server, though we were quickly greeted by Sushi Chef Emma. Lew started with a Beefeater Martini (9.25) and I had the first of two Maker’s Mark Manhattans (13). We ordered a Cheese 5 ways (21) to share, consisting of Red Hawk – Point Reyes Station; San Joaquin Gold – Modesto; Humboldt Fog Dill – Arcata; San Andreas – Petaluma; and Bay Blue – Point Reyes Station, all of California. Lew chose a California/Shrimp Tempura Roll (24) of Jumbo Lump Crab, Avocado, Cucumber and Shrimp Tempura. I ordered the New Moon Roll (26) of Maine Lobster, Avocado, Barbecue Eel, Rice Pearls and Gochujang Dragon Sauce. Before they could come out, Emma presented us with BBQ eel with real Wasabi sauce. Lew enjoyed a glass of pino noir (17). We finished up at 2000 and headed back to the room.
