Our eighth cruise with American Cruise Lines is down the Ohio River from Pittsburgh to St. Louis.

At 0645, it’s 68 in Cincinnati, OH. At 0715, we’re underway, headed for Louisville, KY. We asked the room be made up this morning as we have skipped that so far in the trip. Lunch started with the Summer Waldorf Salad with grapes, walnuts and honey-Greek yogurt dressing for both of us. Lew had a classic BLT on toasted bread with Mayo and I had a rather good Burger with lettuce, tomato and a slice of red onion along with potato wedges. We spent the afternoon resting and working on the website and arrived in Louisville around 1800. At dinner, other passengers had reserved our table, so we moved to another and started with the Iceberg Chopped Salad with smoked bacon, Asher Bleu Cheese and Red Onion. Lew had the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake with roasted red pepper, tartar sauce, rice pilaf and sautéed green beans, but it didn’t measure up to Eastern shore standards. I had the herb-crusted prime rib of beef with balsamic glazed pearl onions and scalloped potatoes. At 2200, it’s 72.
