0400: Unable to sleep any longer, we both got up and by 0500 we were headed for the airport.
Check-in was easy as was security. It went downhill from there.
We were 30 minutes late departing from SBY at 0636, due to a minor mechanical problem, and, therefore, 30 minutes late into PHL.
We moved as quickly as we could and arrived at the departure gate with 6 minutes to the scheduled departure time, except they closed the door at 10 minutes prior to departure, so we watched the plane backout without us.
We went to Customer Service and they booked us on the 0845 to CLT, connecting to MCO.
Both flights are single seats, not together, and in coach!
I notified Mears, and Chris of the changes.
I’m in row 8 and LEW in Row 28.
We left the gate at 0845, and were wheels up, finally, at 0913.
At 1034, we arrived at D2 in CLT.
We walked down to D13 and, 10 minutes later.
We were back on another plane; this one headed for Orlando.
This time, I’m in row 6, in a center seat and LEW is, once again, in row 28.
Chris says he’ll be waiting for us. Wheels up in CLT at 1141.
We touched down in Orlando about 1315 with 3 text messages waiting.
The first, from Chris, welcomed us to Orlando.
The second, from WDW announced our room, 7718, was ready and waiting for us.
The third, from American Airlines, informed us our luggage had been delayed.
We went to the baggage office at the airline and they told us the bags were on the direct flight from Philadelphia that had just landed.
Chris had the time, so we waited for the bags and then headed for Bay Lake Tower. Bellman, David, helped us take our bags to the room.
When our Magic bands wouldn’t open the door, I went back to the lobby and had them reprogrammed.
A little before 3, we went to the Bell Station and secured our rented scooter which I will be using for the first time to expand my endurance in the parks a bit.
From there we went to the Wave Lounge.
We went to the sundries store and secured drinks for the room and then had a short rest before heading for Citricos.
From there, we took the monorail back to the room, and at 2030, it’s 79 at WDW.
