Though we weren’t particularly hungry, at 1800 we walked back over to the Contemporary and to the checkin desk on the 2nd floor for the California Grill.
We were, quickly, whisked up to the 15th floor and promptly seated in the two seats on the left end of the sushi counter in what has become our regular seats.
We were served by Karim with both of us remembering our last encounter.
Lew selected a Dewar’s and soda (10.25) and I, Maker’s Mark Manhattan (12.25).
We were not particularly hungry, so we decided to open with a New Moon Roll (28) of Maine lobster, avocado, barbecue eel, rice pearls, with Gochujang Dragon Sauce.
While we worked through that, Chef Pie-Fan presented us with an amuse bouche of an additional, hefty sample of barbecue eel over seaweed salad.
That finished us.
We closed the tab and returned to the room.
