Sometime between 1100 and 1400, we will transfer to the dock and board the Pearl Mist and cabin 401. At 1500, we will depart Portland, ME, bound for Bar Harbor, ME. | |||
At 0700, it’s 50 in Portland, ME. We had a lovely breakfast in the Holiday Inn of Eggs Benedict (10.50) for Lew and Corned Beef Hash (4.50), Bacon (4), Rye Toast (3) and grapefruit juice (3.50) for me. At 1030, we left the room headed for the dock. After a brief wait, we turned in our passports and boarding passes, received room keys, and boarded the boat. Name tags will be distributed tomorrow. At lunch, we met Larry and Pam Hannah, from Florida. Lew had soup and salmon and I had scallops and trout, followed by a chocolate éclair. We participated in a safety drill and rested. At 1500, we departed Portland, headed for Bar Harbor. I attended the tour briefing and selected our excursions for the remainder of the trip. At 1730, we attended one of the two cocktail parties. There is one in the Atlantic Lounge on Deck 2, with music, and a smaller one in the Pacific Lounge on Deck 4, where we met Barry Lane, our guest lecturer. At 1830, we went down to dinner. We sat at our same table on the portside, aft, with Sherwin as our server. We were soon joined by Bob and Eileen Heitman from Yardley, PA. We both started with Pate and finished with Beef. At 2130, it’s 58. |
