At 0050, we'll depart Lunenburg, NS, bound for Halifax, NS, arriving at 0800. Well depart Halifax at 1530, bound for Pictou, NS
At 0640 (Atlantic Daylight Time), it’s 55 off the southern tip of Nova Scotia, bound for Halifax. With the time change, Lew slept in, so I went down and breakfast of corned beef has, bacon and English Muffins. I turned in our revised tour requests for Halifax and found Lew in the 4th deck lounge and Bruna cleaning our room. Bruna left a clever washcloth monkey. At lunch, we both started with the Seafood Gumbo which had just the right amount of spice. Lew moved onto Rosemary Mushroom-Grapes Tomato Yellow Squash Crostini over brown rice and I enjoyed a Club Sandwich of Smoked Turkey, bacon and cheese on Ciabatta Bread with coleslaw. Lew finished with a very nice bread pudding and I had a slice of Oreo Cheesecake. During lunch, I got a text from AT&T warning I was accumulating foreign data charges at an excessive rate, so I called and go on an international daily plan for the remainder of our time in Canada. At 1600, we docked in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Our Asian friends were playing Mahjong, which I did not understand. Soon after docking, the Cruise Director announced that that boat has passed Customs Clearance and we are cleared to go ashore. At 1730, we returned to the Pacific Lounge for cocktails, and then went down for dinner. Lew started with Oyster (one) Rockfeller while I had Cream of Wild Mushrooms Soup. I moved on to a Heart of Palm Salad with Ranch Dressing. Sherwin then brought out our first introduction to Main Lobster with Shrimp, Mussels, Clams & Corn on the Cob. We hope to see this again. Returning to the room, I was able to find an active stats page for FSU Football hosting NC State. I went to bed at halftime (2220 & 58) with a score of 17-6 in favor of the ‘Noles and learned a few hours later that they had won by a final score of 31-13. We slept with the balcony door slightly ajar to enjoy the cool sea air.
