At 0640, it’s 58 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Lew skipped breakfast. We went down for lunch. Lew started with Broccoli and Cheddar Soup, while I had the Beef Tataki with sweet soy sauce and Sesame seed with Asian slaw before also adding the soup. Lew moved on to the Grilled Chicken Sandwich of Avocado, Tomato and Jack Cheese with mixed bean salad and I selected the Pan-fried Sole Almondine with sautéed shredded potatoes and green beans with toasted almonds and a lemon-butter sauce. After lunch, we boarded busses for a tour of Halifax. Our two main stops were the Maritime Museum and a visit to the cemetery where the majority of the Titanic victims are buried. Soon after our return, we left Halifax, NS. At 1730, we had cocktails with the officers in the Pacific Lounge before going down to dinner where we were joined by Linda Rottier (402) and Lizann Donley (402) from Michigan, and Janet Berglund (513) from Ponta Vedra, FL. Lew started with the Poached Shrimp Cocktail with Horseradish cocktail sauce while I had Burgundy Escargots in Garlic Butter before moving on to the Creamy Truffle Flavored Parsnip Soup with Chopped Tarragon. For her entrée, Lew picked Baked Chicken Parmesan over buttered noodles with Tomato Provencal Sauce. I had the Grilled Veal Medallions with creamy mushroom sauce over grilled zucchini. At 2124, it’s 53 headed for Charlottetown, PEI |
