We'll spend the day in Charlottetown, departing at 1800 for Iles de Madeleine, QC | |||
At 0755, it’s 48 south of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. By 1000, we were moored, as a bigger boat beat us in and got the dockside space. After breakfast, we learned that all shore parties will go by launch, so we have elected not to go ashore. We chatted with our Chinese friends and then joined them for lunch. Lew started with Grilled Portobello Mushrooms marinated in balsamic and olive oil. I picked the French Acadian Split Pea Soup with ham. We both selected the Classic Seafood Stew of Mussels, clams, fresh fish and shrimp simmered in Lobster broth. They went ashore and we settled down for afternoon naps. At 1730 it was cocktails before heading down for dinner. We both started with Baked Seafood en Croute with shrimp, scallops, mussels in a creamy wine sauce. Lew selected Grilled Fresh Atlantic Salmon with rice pilaf, buttered snap peas and sautéed garlic in a tomato and olive sauce and I enjoyed a nice Beef Wellington with mushroom duxelle and Roasted vegetables. I finished with a Hinger Berry Cobbler. At 2000, we sailed from Charlottetown, PEI headed for Ilse de la Madeleine. At 2130, it’s 50 and we’re down for the night. |
