We'll arrive at Iles de Madeleine, QC at 0700 and depart at 1700, bound for Gaspe, QC | |||
At 0604, it’s 48 approaching Ilse de le Madeleine. We docked at 7, surrounded by large ferries that transport the residents and all their goods back and for the from the mainland. I went down, alone, for a breakfast of corned beef hash, bacon and English muffins and a glass of forbidden grapefruit juice. We elected not to go ashore during this brief stop and were already at lunch when the rest of the passengers returned to the boat at noon. We both started with a Seafood Salad Timbale over cucumber with a light mayonnaise & Tarragon. Lew added Cream of spinach soup. For her entrée, she enjoyed Lemon Roasted Chicken with sautéed onions-potatoes and a garlic Yogurt dip while I picked a cheeseburger. I finished with a slice of Key Lime Pie. At 1215, the captain took us out headed for Gaspe, QC. At 1400, there was a game of Classic Movie Trivia. After three rounds, I was the only passenger who had won prizes in rounds 1 (PEI Potholders) and 3 (maple syrup). We rested until cocktails, again in the Pacific Lounge on deck 4, just forward of our cabin. Then it was down to dinner. I started with smoked duck in Cranberry Sauce, before we both moved on to a weak clam chowder. The Lobster Thermidor we both enjoyed was excellent, served with creamy mushrooms & rice pilaf, presented in the tail shell of the lobster. Lew had sticky dates pudding. At 2130,(ADT) it’s 46, at sea, headed for Gaspe, QC. |
