We arrive at Saquenay Fjord, QC at 0800 and depart at 1600 for Quebec City, QC
At 0618, it’s 42 approaching Saguenay, QC. There is something wrong with the heel on my right foot. It appears something is imbedded and is quite painful in bare feet. We were docked by 0745 and went down to breakfast and ate with the Canadian Pilot who had just brought us into Saguenay and will stay with us until Quebec City, tomorrow morning. Lew had a piece of spinach quiche and I had scrambled eggs, sausage and an English Muffin. We visited with the nurse and she cleaned the wound in my right heel. She won’t cut in to get out the foreign body as we are traveling tomorrow. I have a podiatrist appointment on Tuesday and should be OK until then. We had lunch with Lizann Donley and Linda Rottier. I started with the Summer Blueberry Salad with Candied Walnut Orange Vinaigrette. I gave my 3 blueberries to Lizann and then moved on to the Yellow Split Pea Soup with ham. I had the Seared Lounder over Pumpkin Puree and swiss chard with Creole Sauce and Lew had a cheeseburger. We took the 1220 tender ashore and boarded bus #3. Following a brief tour of Saguenay, we arrived at the theatre for La Fabuleuse, a stage show depicting the history of the region. Normally done in French, this show was in English for the cruise boat passengers. We returned to the dock and tendered back to Pearl Mist. At 1630, we got underway for Quebec City. At 1730, the last round of cocktails was in the Pacific Lounge, Deck 4, forward, 5 yards from our cabin. At 1815, we went down to dinner. I started with the Roasted Red Pepper Bisque before we both moved on to the featured Cold Water Lobster Tail over Tomato Rice Pilaf, asparagus & drawn butter. Though we both ordered the Tiramisu, we ended up, instead, with cherries jubilee. At 2047, it’s 45, underway to Quebec City, with the balcony door opened a crack.
