We were whisked upstairs to our seats at the south end of the sushi counter.
I started with a pair of Maker’s Mark Manhattans (14) and Lew had Milbrandt Riesling (12).
She was befriended by Clay, a chef, who volunteered to fry an order of short rib wontons (18) that normally come steamed.
He was extra attentive and earned a spot on this year’s Pixie Dust List.
She moved on to the Crab Shrimp California Roll (27) while I had the Angry Dragon Roll (28).
With the lavender donuts missing from the dessert menu, Lyd picked the Apple Tart (15) with decaf coffee (9) and I finished with the Crème Brulee (16).
As we finished, they were dimming the lights in preparation for the fireworks over the castle.
