Home PEARL SEAS CRUISES Great Lakes Cruise 2024 August 3 - August 16, 2024 |≤ <<< Sat, Aug 10, 2024 >>> ≥| The Plan: We were to depart Midland, OH, at 0800 and spend the day sailing up Georgian Bay, headed for Sault Sainte Marie, ON, arriving around 0800, Sunday. At 0630, it’s 64o in Georgian Bay with an arrival time at Sault Ste Marie at 1800 this evening. We went down to “early Risers” and secured tea and coffee, and then had breakfast at 0730. For lunch, we each had the Seafood Salad Timbale. I added the cream of spinach soup, and we both had the tuna-mayo salad on toast with a side of macaroni salad. After lunch, we paid the deposit and cancellation insurance for next summer’s cruise, before returning to the room. After naps, we picked up a round of drinks from the Pacific Lounge. At 1800, we arrive in Sault Ste Marie, ON, as we sat down to dinner. We each had the Clam Chowder which was not as good as the one we make at home. I moved on to the Chopped Market Salad which was pretty good. We both then enjoyed the Lobster Thermidor, and finished with the Sticky Dates Pudding before returning to the room for the evening. At 2030, it’s 59o and the window is open. At 0330, heavy rain came through and Lyd closed the verandah door.
