The Plan: At the southeastern tip of Lake Superior, we should arrive at Sault Sainte Marie, OH, around 0800. We'll be here until 1900, when we depart for Macinac Island, MI, between Lake Hurno and Lake Michigan, arriving at 0700, Monday. We plan on taking the Soo Locks Boat Adventure.
At 0640, it’s 55o in Sault Ste Marie, ON. With today’s high forecast at 66, we’re skipping the boat tour through the Soo locks. I went to breakfast alone while Lyd went to the Sunday morning worship service. At lunch, we both had the oyster stew (OK, but not as good as ours) and the Smoked Turkey Wrap. Lyd finished with the Dulce de Leche Flan and I tried the Apple in a Jacket for dessert. We returned to the stateroom for naps and the boat moved from the Canadian side of the St. Mary’s River to the Michigan side. For dinner, Lyd started with the Creamy Wild Mushroom Vol au Vent, and we both had the Asparagus Cream Soup. I added the Heart of Iceberg Salad. For her entrée, Lyd picked the Seared Herb Chicken Breast, but was not impressed. I selected the Braised bonelss short ribs of beef, but they were tough and dry. I finished with the german chocolate cake. At 1900, we left Sault Ste Marie, MI, headed for Mackinac Island, MI. At 2103, it’s 64o on the St. Mary’s River. Substantial insects dictates we keep the verandah door closed.
