| The Plan: We'll arrive in Decator, AL at 1030, departing at 1730, headed for Florence, AL, arriving at 2330. From 1300 to 1700, we'll tour the U.S. Space and Rocket Center. | |||
| ROUGH DRAFT At 0600 it’s 72 and we’re in a set of locks dropping down to another level on the Tennessee river on Wheeler Lake at Guntersville, Alabama. I spent time on the back deck and had 2 cups of Earl Grey and Lyd and I went down to breakfast at 7:30. Lydia had eggs Benedict and I had scrambled sausage, bacon and rye toast with a cup of tea. Bill had an omelette. We decided to skip the excursion to the rocket center in Huntsville and I went to the ships office and took us off the list. Mid morning, I went to the Eagle Society reception and there is a passenger on board who has taken 24 trips compared to our 16. At lunch I had a Reuben sandwich and Lyd had salmon croquettes, which were quite good followed by naps. We then went to the back deck to just enjoy the ambience. at 1730 we went down for cocktails, followed by dinner. Lydia had the salmon and Bill and I each had the fried chicken. At 1700. We set sail for Florence, we’re going down Alabama. At 2000 we went through the Wheeler locks dropping us 50 feet. Add 2130 we entered Wilson walk. And it’s 77° and will call it a night. |
