| The Plan: We spend the day in Florence, departing at 2200 for Savannah, TN, going through the Pickwick Locks. | |||
| ROUGH DRAFT At 0645, it’s 67 in Florence, Alabama. We had early risers in the sky lounge and then Bill joined us and we went down for breakfast in the restaurant. Lydia did a load of laundry. While others were assembling for excursions ashore, we returned to deck 4, aft, to enjoy the ambience and scenery. At 1100, Lydia and Bill each ordered burgers from the Back Porch Café and I ordered a hotdog shortly thereafter. At 1220, it’s nap time. Following naps we returned to the sky lounge with reading and working on the laptop to update the website. At 1715, we went down for cocktails. There was a jazz band playing and we went down to dinner at 1800. Bill and I started with the squash soup which wasn’t very good and the apple with bacon and spinach salad. All three of us chose the sea bass for dinner, which was excellent. We finished with a peach cheesecake and the gentle rain started at 1900. With the back deck closed for cleaning I sat out on our state room balcony in a light rain while Lyd read in bed. |
