This is Margaret's recipe.
Ingredients:
2 1/3 cups Sifted Flour
2 1/2 t Baking Powder
1/2 t salt
2 t Sugar
6 T Shortening
5 T Heavy Cream
2 Eggs
2 T Sugar
Procedures:
Heat the oven to 450o.
Sift 1st 4 ingredients.
Cut in shortening with a pastry blender to corn-meal texture.
Add Cream.
Separate 1 egg. Reserve 1 T white. Beat the rest with the 2nd egg.
Add to the flour, and knead.
Roll on a floured surface to 1/2" thick.
Cut into 3" squares and then the squares into triangles.
Brush with egg white and dust with 2 T sugar.
Bake 10-15 minutes.
Notes:
2009-01-19: Lyd's 1st attempt was not sweet enough. The recipe needs more butter and more sugar.
