CHOCOLATE WALNUT PECAN PIE
This is a great dessert.
Ingredients:
1 Pillsbury pie crust
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup black walnuts
4 eggs
1/2 cup corn syrup
1/4 cup honey
1/3 cup white sugar
1/3 cup brown sugar
6 Tablespoons melted butter
1/4 cup bourbon
1 Tablespoon pure vanilla extract
1 Tablespoon flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
8 ounces bittersweet baking chocolate1
Procedures:
  1. Roll the pie crust thinner than specified in the package directions.
  2. Cut the chocolate into 1/2" pieces and set aside.
  3. Preheat the oven to 350o. Toast the walnuts and pecans in a saute pan for about 4 minutes.
  4. Combine the remaining ingredients and mix until smooth.
  5. Fold in the nuts and the chocolate and pour into the pie crust.
  6. Bake at 350o for 40-50 minutes.
Notes:
2011-11-21: In preparation for Thanksgiving, we made this using 1unsweetened chocolate squares. Big Mistake and we threw it out!
2010-11-25: Thanksgiving Day. We burned the nuts in the toaster oven, so we changed the recipe to toast them in a pan, instead.
