OATMEAL BARS  
We got this recipe from Marietta Robbins
Ingredients:
2 sticks butter, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1.5 cups dried apricots, diced
1/2 cup pecans, chopped
1/2 cup black walnuts, chopped
1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
2 eggs
1.5 cups flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
3 cups Quaker Oats (quick or old fashioned)
Procedures:
Beat together butter and sugars until creamy.
Add eggs and vanilla; beat well.
Add flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt and mix well.
Stir in oats, apricots, and nuts; mix well.
Bake 30 minutes at 350o in an ungreased 13 x 9 metal baking pan.
Notes:
2009-08-13: Lyd started a batch. We didn't have enough pecans [1 cup], so we combined the 1/2 cup we did have with a like amount of black walnuts. Next time, Lyd wants to try dates instead of apricots.
