London Broil2012-03-20
There are many recipes for London Broil. The name comes from the style of cooking, not the cut of meat. We favor this one, even though it is roasted, not broiled.
Ingredients:
2.5 lb. Flank Steak
1/4 Cup Red Wine Vinegar
1/4 Cup Dry Red Wine
2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
2 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
2 Tablespoons Balsamic Vinegar
1 Tablespoon Horseradish
2 Tablespoons Soy Teriyaki Sauce
2 Tablespoons Spicy whole-grained mustard
1 Teaspoon Black pepper
4 cloves Garlic, smashed
2 Tablespoons Honey
Procedures:
Place all the ingredients in a large plastic resealable bag.
Refrigerate for ~6 hours, turning periodically.
Pat the meat dry and discard the marinade.
Roast at 350o for about 70 minutes to an internal temp of 145o.
Transfer to a cutting board and wait 5 minutes.
Slice across the grain, thinly.
Notes:
2023-10-25: With baked potatoes and broccoli.
2022-07-11: Served with a few leftover sides.
2020-07-17: The marinade was a little too strong perhaps a little too long. The meat was too rare so the temperature needs to be increased. Served with scalloped potatoes and butter bath corn.
2019-09-16: For Charlene’s visit and served with garlic mashed potatoes.
2007-08-31: Added to our cookbook.
