Dreaded Day

The Dreaded Day (described here) is long and tiring.
Peg's staff works the questions Rachel and her son, Isaac, our newest staffer. Peg and Lisa enjoyed Lisa's birthday celebration

We took the Blue Launch from our hotel (right) to the Wilderness Lodge.

Up until our January 2006 visit, Artist Point was one of our favorite restaurants. We left that night with an unsettled opinion of our visit, and, unfortunately, tonight didn't leave us feeling any better. Oh, its a good place, but no longer a great place.
We started with drinks; a Manhattan ($7) and a Gin Martini ($7.75). With dinner we had a Columbia Winery, Gewurztraminer '05 ($37)

Lyd's Choices

Braised Penn Cove Mussels with Fennel and Grilled Sourdough Toast ($12)
Cedar Plank Roasted King Salmon with Brussels Sprouts, Caramelized Onions, Pork Belly, Butternut Squash and Lemon Grass Glaze ($32)

Tom's Choices

Smoky Portobello Soup with Roasted Shitakes and Chive Oil ($7).  Chefs tweak recipes. We know that. But this just wasn't as good as what we had 4/23/05 and 6/18/05
Pan-seared Halibut with Roasted Fingerling Potatoes, Asparagus and Rose Buerre Blanc ($28)

With our new Panasonic DMC-TZ!, recommended by Sal and Kate, set on "Starry Sky" I was finally able to catch some shots of the nightly boat parade at the Contemporary Hotel. In June, I'll take along the tripod.
