Background
At 0617, it’s 72 at Walt Disney World. Lyd was suffering a little indigestion, so we didn’t leave the room until close to 0900. We took the double monorails to EPCOT and headed first for Spaceship Earth. The standby line moved quickly and we enjoyed the ride. When we came out, we sent e-cards of the ride to Kate and Linda. From there we headed out to The Land. We used our FastPasses to Soarin’ to bypass a line estimated at 80 minutes long. It’s a great simulation ride of a hang glider ride over California. It would be nice to see a change in the ride to show scenes of Florida or other parts of the country. While in the building, we rode the boat ride Living With The Land. We walked over to Imagination and used our FastPasses even though the standby line wasn’t very long. Headed out for World Showcase, we walked through a butterfly pavilion as EPCOT is in the middle of the Flower and Garden Festival. We had a short wait at Rose and Crown as they didn’t open until noon. On the way back to the room, we stopped at The Magic Kingdom and then at the Ticket and Transportation Center Lost and Found in a futile effort to locate Lyd’s missing fanny pack. We returned to BLT and I obtained the next day’s airline boarding passes at the front desk. At 1900, with lightning to the west, we went up to the California Grill for dinner. By the time we left, the thunderstorm had reached the Magic Kingdom area and it was raining heavily crossing the bridge from the Contemporary back to Bay Lake Tower. We quickly moved out to our balcony and the rain stopped just in time for the magical fireworks of “Wishes,” once again with audio on the room TV. At 2145, we both retired on our last night at WDW for this trip.
