Home <<< Family Weekend >>> 2015
07/10/2015
Sal, Kate, Dominic and Leo will be here for the weekend. They're coming down on Thursday evening and leaving Sunday morning. We'll do lunch at Sakura one of the days they are here.
Thursday: SKDL pulled in at 2230 following a drive through heavy rain. At 2352, everyone was in bed.
Friday: Sal went for an early morning run. After the boys had their breakfasts of waffles and bagels, and after a little screen time, we went out on the patio and the boys played some in the “jungle.” At 9, with the humidity rising, we turned on the A/C and closed up the family room. We went to Sakura for lunch, which included a variety of sushi rolls, rocky shrimp (6.95), Fried cheese wontons (3.95), chicken teriyaki (3.95), shrimp tempura (4.50) crispy calamari (5.50), seaweed salad (4.50), Habachi combo (6.95) and fries(2.50). Later, we watched our recently acquired “Paddington.” Lyd is excused from jury duty on Monday. Margaret joined us at 1630 for a dinner of Beef Tenderloin, Spaghetti Squash, Gouda Mac & Cheese and Bavarian Beans. Lyd served Rhubarb Crisp for dessert. In the evening, Sal, Kate and I watched “Grand Budapest Hotel” until I went up at 2100 & 79o.
Saturday: At 0605, it’s 74 and raining. We opened up the family room and the boys were the first ones down watching “How to Train Your Dragon” episodes on Kate’s iPad. When Lyd returned from Margaret’s, the boys were in the loft, as it’s still raining. With the rain still coming down, we went to a pet store at Twilley Center which, for the boys, was as good as the zoo. Then it was home for a lunch of deli sandwiches. Lyd and Kate headed for Vernon Powell, the guys for the loft and me for the sofa. Around 2, with the rain ending, the guys headed for Barnes and Noble. They all got home about 3. We had Shrimp Jambalaya for dinner. In the evening, Sal, Kate and I watched Hobbit #3: The Five Armies. At 2245, it’s 72.
Sunday: At 0619, it’s 68 and the family room is open. Dominic and Leo were the first one’s down and they had iPad time. When everyone came down, we put on “Pete’s Dragon” for the boys and Lyd made eggs and ham for Sal and Kate. At 0930, they were on the road to Wyomissing.
