Background
At 0515, its 57. We sailed at 0100 and soon started rolling. The fog horn started at 0500, and with our window open, that ended sleep. It appears we either had rain in the night, or spray on the front windows of the Nantucket Lounge. The sun is directly behind us, so our heading must be northwest towards Penobscot Bay as the rolling has decreased. We anchored in Castine just before 0900 and boarded the launch for town at 0915. We enjoyed a tour of the town in a school bus, stopping at the Dyce Head Lighthouse and the Wilson Museum. At 1130, we took the launch back to American Glory, and by 1200, we were headed east to Belfast. We were at lunch at 1330, when we docked in Belfast. We both had the Barbecued White Shrimp with pimiento cheese grits and smothered greens followed by the Turkey Cobb Salad with cider-Dijon vinaigrette, bacon, tomato and lettuce. We decided to have dinner ashore, so, following nice afternoon naps, we walked up to Dockside Family Restaurant. Pretty much the whole menu lists “market price,” so, in addition to a bottle of Pinot Grigio (26), we each had a rich bowl of lobster stew (11.95). Lyd had a boiled lobster (22.95) with fries and slaw, and I had “Lazy Man’s Lobster” (26.95) where they take the lobster out of the shell and sauté it in butter, along with a baked potato. Once again, we skipped the evening entertainment and by 2230 & 62, we had both retired.
