Background
We'll arrive at West Point at 0500 and sail at 1300, arriving back in NYC at 1800.
At 0410, we tied up at West Point. By 0500, the first of numerous freight trains went by, headed in both directions. At 0545, it's 67. We paid our excursion tab which amounted to only our transfer to Penn Station tomorrow morning. At 0915, we boarded the bus for a tour of the US Military Academy. We stopped first at the Cadet Chapel. By the time we stopped at the parade ground, the rains had returned. A drizzle at first, but increasing. Our last stop was at the West Point Museum. Returning to the boat, we went down for lunch as we cast off in West Point for the return to Manhattan. We both enjoyed the Cream of Cauliflower Soup followed by the Honey Thyme Bass with Vegetable Hash, Spinach and Roasted Tomato Broth. We returned to our cabin for naps. At 1530, I went down for Bingo, winning the 2nd round. By 1700, we were off Manhattan and we enjoyed the view from our cabin balcony. At 1730, we were tied up, once again, at Pier 36, and we went down for cocktails, learning that next week's cruise, the last for the Glory, will be a charter. Captain Beebe-Center expects to have the boat in Salisbury on Halloween. At dinner, we both enjoyed the Old Bay Poached Shrimp with cocktail sauce. Lyd had the Shrimp and Crab Stuffed Lobster Tail with rice pilaf, drawn butter and vegetable medley. I had the "Surf and Turf" Beef Tenderloin & Seafood Stuffed Lobster with vegetable Medley and rice pilaf. We skipped dessert and returned to the room to pack for tomorrow morning's departure.
