We arrived in Canada just in time for our 1155 reservation and were seated without delay. Lew chose glasses of Fess Parker Pinot Noir (21) while I selected Iced Tea (3.49). Next came the signature bread course featuring their excellent pretzel bread rolls. We had decided to go on the light side, so Lew started with an Iceberg Wedge (14) with Avocado Green Goddess, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Lemon-pepper cucumbers, Toybox tomatoes, puffed Farro wheat and Pecorina; a side of Three Cheese Mac-n-Cheese (10); and a side of creamed spinach (9). I selected the PEI Mussels (15) of Canadian Craft Ale, Charred Onion Broth and Chorizo Sausage with a side of Seared Scallops (16). Once again, however, the kitchen had other plans, and before any of our orders arrived, our server presented us with Le Cellier Signature Poutine of Fresh-cut French Fries, Canadian Cheddar, Truffles with a red wine reduction. |
