At 0650 (CDT), it’s 73 in Henderson, KY.
We went down at 0730 for breakfast.
Lew had a nice quiche and I enjoyed raspberry pancakes with a white chocolate sauce.
We didn’t make it to the Audubon tour, but did ask the crew to resupply our room libations.
At lunch, Lew started with the Shrimp cake with roasted red pepper shrimp sauce, but found it a bit salty.
My Roasted Peach Salad with walnuts, bleu cheese and white balsamic vinaigrette was excellent.
Lew moved on to the Cornmeal Crusted Breast of Chicken with local corn, mashed potatoes, caramelized onion, green beans and honey butter biscuit.
I enjoyed German Bratwurst with braised cabbage and pirogies.
At 1600, on the starboard side, we passed from Indiana to Illinois crossing the mouth of the Wabash River.
Cocktails were, again, at 1730.
We went down to dinner just as we passed Cave-In-Rock, a home for river pirates, according to local lore.
At dinner, we both started with the Seafood Stew with roasted garlic sauce.
Lew advanced to the Cajun Shrimp and Lobster & Grits with creole tomato grits, parsley salad and rosemary biscuit while I had the Maple BBQ glazed New York Sirloin Strip Loin with sweet potato hash and vegetable saute.
I finished with the Blackberry Buttermilk Cake.
After dinner, Lew went to the Magnolia Lounge to enjoy The Wheelhouse Rousters.
At 2150, it’s 75.
