Lobster Tails, Broiled |
|
|
There is a recipe for steaming the lobster tails. |
|
Ingredients: |
Several Lobster tails (bigger is NOT better)
Olive Oil
|
|
Procedures: |
If the tails were frozen, rinse out the salt water before cooking.
With kitchen shears, cut down one side on the top of each tail and then down the other side, exposing a strip of shell that is pulled away.
Broil the tails, "face down" (ventral) for 3-5 minutes, depending on the size of the tails
Invert the tails (dorsal) and continuing broiling until done, but not dried out. Toward the end of the broiling, EVOO can be drizzled on the tails to prevent burning.

Notes: |
2023-01-01: we’d planned on broiling, but steamed, instead, a pair from Jerry and Linda.
2021-12-10: 5 minutes face down and 11 minutes face up. Difficult to get out of the shell.
2020-02-16: 11/11 was a little overdone and served with potatoes, mushrooms and onion. I’d like to try removing from the shell and doing a stir-fry.
2020-01-01: 12 ounces; 12 & 12; drizzled with EVOO.
2019-10-26: 2 8 oz tails broiled in the toaster oven, 5 & 5.
